My heart attack: the beginning.

In 2022 I lived in Minsk. I managed my cryptocurrency portfolios, a life full of fun and interesting things. That day I had bought a chicken from the supermarket: it didn't look good but I wanted chicken. I cooked it and, as always, I ate in front of the computer.

While eating I saw that the cryptocurrencies I had sold the week before for a few thousand euros were worth 160,000 euros that day. I should have been used to it, I had known about cryptocurrencies since 2010 and had already lost many profits (including a forgotten mining wallet). But that day I was already stressed about the EU sanctions on Belarus, which had cut off another one of my businesses in tourism. I wanted to hit the wall.

Suddenly I got a strong, persistent pain in the center of my chest. The first thing I didn't think of was a heart attack: I immediately blamed the chicken, which I considered rotten. "It'll pass," I told myself. Meanwhile, I ranted against selling the cryptocurrency and the EU.

In the afternoon I started to think: the pain had come exactly at the moment of maximum stress. Maybe it wasn't the chicken. Around 6 pm I called a friend, explained everything to him. He arrived and together we called emergency services: let the professionals think about it.

The ambulance arrives, they let me in and lay me down. I tell the story of the chicken; the nurse smiles and says: "The classic Belarusian chicken" and meanwhile asks me personal questions from a questionnaire. She gives me a pill. After a few minutes she asks how I'm feeling. I wasn't thinking about it anymore: we were talking with the nurses from the medical guard and the ambulance and I was already calmer. In fact, the weight on my chest had decreased.

I told her and the nurse gave me another pill. She asked me again how I was feeling. I was fine. I was happy: I thought it was all over. I said goodbye to them and was about to leave.

But the nurse told me: "Stay there" and to the driver: "Let's go." I said I was fine. She replied that it was very likely a heart attack and that they would admit me to the hospital.

The story of how my heart attack began: sudden stress, chest pain, and the decision to call for help. Because you shouldn't ignore the signs.
